Endoscopic sinus surgery is a procedure that removes blockages in the sinuses. It can be used to relieve symptoms related to sinusitis, septal deviations or turbinate hypertrophy, and nasal polyps. These blockages can cause sinusitis, which is where the sinus mucous membranes swell and become blocked. This can cause pain, drainage, and difficulty breathing.

Usually, the patient is under general anesthesia when this outpatient procedure is performed.
